The Moke.

My Moke is a 1971 model.

It is powered by an east west 1275 cc engine.

I have spent many hours working on it with others who specialise in different areas.

The engine is 60 thou overbored with a balanced crank and flywheel. It has a 42mm weber carby, oversized exhaust valves and extractors, 1 1/2" exhaust system, cooper 998 cam shaft and cooper s duplex timing chain. The gearbox is fully reconditioned with syncro in every gear. A piece of polished aluminium behind the grill makes this moke very reliable even in the rain. The distributor stays remarkably dry behind it.

You may wonder why I have gone to these lengths for a company vehicle. The moke is a high profile machine with a substantial amount of sign writting on it, front and back. If the vehicle plods along the road (which most mokes with a 998 or an 1100cc motor in them do), and people have to overtake it all the time, it is a poor reflection on the company. As it is, it zips about quite well and is an eye opener, without inconviencing anyone. "So what", I hear you say.    The increased number of business phone calls that I have had since the moke has been on the road has been astounding.

The moke is getting an upgrade to its motor.
